Hurricane wind
Panels locked on four sides, fasteners out of the weather
Hurricanes and tropical storms are a fact of life here, and not only on the coast: Florence came ashore near Wrightsville Beach on September 14, 2018 and dropped more than 30 inches of rain in parts of eastern North Carolina. Interlock panels lock to each other on all four sides with concealed fasteners, and wind resistance is warranted to 120 mph when installed to manufacturer specification. Parts of the coast are designed for higher wind speeds under the North Carolina Residential Code, so the permit office sets the requirement for your house.
