Warranty

The Guardian Lifetime Limited Material Warranty

Issued by Interlock Roofing. It covers material and finish for the original purchaser while they own the home, and transfers once: the second owner is covered to 50 years from substantial completion. Workmanship is excluded; in North Carolina the installation is covered by the Metal Roof NC 5-Year Labor Warranty. The Alunar® coating is warranted 30 years, and wind resistance is warranted to 120 mph when installed to manufacturer specification.

Impact

UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating

Interlock's aluminum shingle, slate, shake and tile profiles are listed UL 2218 Class 4 for impact resistance under the Delta Building Products listing, tested by Intertek. Read the listing for exactly which products it names.

Fire

Class A Fire Rated Available

When installed with two layers of GAF VersaShield® underlayment over a 15/32-inch plywood deck, the Interlock roof assembly can achieve a Class A fire rating (ASTM E108 / UL 790). The rating belongs to that complete assembly, not to the panels alone.

US building code

ICC-ES Evaluation Report ESR-1790

The International Code Council Evaluation Service report on Interlock's aluminum shingle, slate, shake and tile profiles for compliance with the International Building Code and International Residential Code. Standing seam is not part of this report. Installed weight is roughly 0.4 to 0.7 lb per square foot, depending on profile.

Finish

The Alunar® coating

A 70% PVDF coating system designed and tested to meet AAMA 2605, offered in CRRC-rated colors: Solid Copper, Copper Penny, Hunter Green, Black, Deep Charcoal, Musket Grey, Tile Red, Colonial Brown, Tudor Brown and Sierra Tan. Warranted 30 years under the Guardian warranty.
